Company History
Arca Polimeri was officially founded in 2007 by two brothers, Stefano and Domenico Arcadi, who remain the heart and soul of the company to this day.
Entry into the Plastics Industry with Ansa Plast Snc
The Arcadi family first ventured into the plastics industry in 1997 when Stefano, the youngest of the brothers, acquired Ansa Plast Snc in Lainate, which specialised in recovering and grinding plastic waste.
Through dedication and hard work, Ansa Plast achieved a tenfold increase in turnover in less than three years, processing an average of 10,000 kg of plastic waste per day.
Ansa Plast continues to operate and has established itself as a leading plastic grinder in Lombardy.
The First Compounds
In 2003, brothers Stefano and Domenico, along with Giancarlo D’Ottavio, acquired the extrusion lines and compounding plant for thermoplastic materials from Special Polymers in Ceriano Laghetto.
Therefore, Special Compounds Srl was established at this new production site, aiming to enter the compounding market and use the recycled raw materials from Ansa Plast to produce technical and regenerated materials.
Birth of Arca Polimeri Srl
Due to growing experience in the plastics sector and an increasingly comprehensive product range, Arca Polimeri was established in 2007 as a supporting entity for distributing Special Compounds’ formulations.
Distribution, Production, and Recycling
In 2010, Stefano and Domenico acquired all of D’Ottavio’s shares, becoming the sole owners of Special Compounds. Thus, the three companies acquired the definitive structure that would remain in place for years to come.
ISO 9001-2015 Certification
In 2016, Arca Polimeri reached a major quality milestone by certifying its management system for plastics trading under the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Next Generation
In 2019, the two sons of Domenico joined the company first, followed later by the two sons of Stefano. The coexistence of the two generations led Arca Polimeri to approach the future with a strong focus on research and innovation while remaining true to the principles and values that have characterised the company for over a decade.
A Record-Breaking Year
After a challenging 2020, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic that severely tested the global economy, Arca Polimeri faced a recovery period with constant growth, achieving a record turnover of €23 million in 2022. Thanks to an increasingly widespread sales network and an ever-expanding product portfolio, the company reached a sales volume of 10,000 tons.
Arca Polimeri Integrates Compound Production
In 2024, Arca Polimeri absorbed Special Compounds, expanding its role to both distributing and producing plastic materials. By the end of the year, the company extended its ISO 9001:2015 certification to cover production as well.
Following these important changes, Arca Polimeri therefore decides to change the logo and position itself on the market with a new image that better represents the constant evolution of the company in recent years.
